Ideal for occasional use

Buy Medela manual breastpump Base that has been on the market for more than 25 years. It has proved its worth as an ideal solution for mothers who stay with their baby most of the time and only have to pump occasionally.

Optimum convenience for at home or on the go

Whether you want an evening out or just want to go shopping - the manual breastpump Base provides the ideal solution for almost every mother. The manual breastpump is also an alternative to direct breastfeeding if you have health problems like flat or inverted nipples.

Simple pumping, cleaning and assembly

The small manual breast pump Base is easy to use and transport. The adjustable vacuum levels enable comfortable pumping. The Base manual breastpump consists of only 5 parts, it is intuitive to assemble and cleaning is straightforward and fast.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Snap membrane onto valve until membrane lies completely flat.
  2. Push assembled valve and membrane onto breastshield. Ensure sidewise position of valve as indicated on picture.
  3. Screw bottle into breastshield.
  4. Slip rubber seal onto piston until it snaps into place – the larger side faces the handle. To ensure proper seal, hold rubber seal firmly and twist piston
  5. Slide vacuum regulator ring onto cylinder.
  6. Slide piston into cylinder.
  7. Screw cylinder into breastshield.

Pumping Instructions

  1. Be comfortably seated and relax. Use a footrest, when pumping or when feeding your baby. Elevating your feet puts you into proper sitting position to avoid stress on the lower back and perineum.
  2. Center your breastshield over your nipple. Do not tilt or overfill bottles when pumping
  3. Set the vacuum regulator to minimum and start pumping.
  4. Adjust the vacuum to your Maximum Comfort Vacuum™. This is the highest vacuum you can use and still feel comfortable (different for every mother). To find your Maximum Comfort Vacuum increase vacuum until pumping feels slightly uncomfortable (not painful), then decrease slightly.
  5. Research has shown that you will pump more efficiently – meaning get more milk in less time – when pumping at Maximum Comfort Vacuum™.
  6. Once finished pumping disassemble the pump kit items. Close the bottle and store it for later use.
  7. Use bottle stand to prevent tip over.
